What I Believe

I believe leadership begins with self-awareness.

I believe relationships matter more than transactions.

I believe growth requires courage.

I believe adversity can become purpose.

I believe success is measured not only by what we accomplish, but by the impact we have on the people around us.

My Why

I know what it's like to carry responsibilities you never expected and navigate challenges you never would have chosen.

One of the most defining moments of my life came just ten days into my first nonprofit CEO role when my young son was diagnosed with brain cancer. In an instant, the plans I had for my career, my family, and our future were replaced with uncertainty, fear, and questions I couldn't answer. As a new executive, I was used to solving problems, creating plans, and driving results. As a mother, I wanted nothing more than to fix what was happening to my child.

But I couldn't.

What I learned during that season continues to shape my life and leadership today: we cannot control everything that happens to us, but we can control how we respond. We can control our attitude, our actions, our character, and the choices we make when circumstances are beyond our influence.

That experience became the foundation of my belief in post-traumatic growth, the idea that even life's most difficult seasons can lead to deeper purpose, stronger leadership, greater resilience, and meaningful impact. While I would never have chosen that chapter of our story, it taught me lessons about courage, perspective, relationships, and service that continue to guide me every day.

Today, my passion is helping others navigate growth, change, and uncertainty with confidence and intention. Whether through coaching, speaking, or leadership development, my goal is to help people focus on what they can control, embrace their potential, and move forward with purpose.

Because sometimes our greatest growth comes not from the challenges we avoid, but from the ones we choose to grow through.
